It's almost here...a day that offers all citizens (including the ones with true Irish heritage) to consume as much alcohol as humanly possible without being considered a drunk. Well the true meaning of St. Patrick's Day is a day of feasting in honor of the St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Why March 17th, why not? Well actually, because that is the day in which St. Patrick died. I love it, a patron saint dies and we turn it into a day of boozing. Anyway since most of the feasting and boozing will take place at tens of thousands of Irish pubs we can't think of a better way to transition into these awesome Personalized Pub Signs.

Fitness: Stand In Awe At Our World

There are many routes for exercise, but there is none so important as the mind. And the conference that takes place in Monterey, California, the TED talks, is a great place to get in shape. It is an invitation-only event that gathers some of the great minds in science, art, and general life to present their ideas and thoughts to each other. The presentations range from the clever, but not overly spectacular to outright mad-scientist brilliance. The great part about listening to these people is that they do try and make it entertaining. You get to learn about the most amazing things and still enjoy sitting and watching the length and learning from these people.

Sex: Sexpo's And Their Wonders

Okay guys, a journey into taboo. Not really that much but we're gonna get a little graphic. Nothing your children shouldn't be seeing, you just might have some creative explanations to come up with should they check things out too. Anyhow on to the show. Arse Elektronika. Held in San Francisco, this sex conference featured some pretty outrageous items. First off is the Moaning Lisa, 
a life-sized, naked, busty mannequin rigged up with a network of touch sensors, potentiometers, and light sensors that work together to detect the manual stimulation of love. Pretty creative. Interactive learning is supposed to, and probably will, be the future of education. We can only see it improve from here.

Random: One Small Step For Man, One Frog Leap For Mankind

Today's Leapfrog Day! And if it wasn't before than now it is. It's everything leapfrog you'll ever want to see. You already know about the game leapfrog, jumping over your friend while they duck down and then doing the same for them and on and on until you get sick of it or mess up and fall in a tumble of limbs. What you might not know are the many other uses of leapfrog. In hockey and soccer it is a slang term used for scoring 4 goals in a single game. LeapFrog Enterprises is a company that makes educational toys for children. Pretty exciting. Some better ones though? Leapfrog is a variation of the doggy style position where she angles her body downwards or lies flat and he straddles her legs. In the words of wikipedia: "This position allows for vigorous thrusting."

Gadgets: CES Day Three. More Tech.

Today's news on the CES front:
Sling showed its SlingCatcher and SlingModem, scheduled for release in Q2, which works well for them and us because apparently the SlingCatcher crashed a couple times, while also having sluggish menus and a generally unfinished look and feel.
Samsung presented it's 31-inch and 14-inch OLED's, showing up Sony's 27-inch prototype and 11-inch production sets. Samsung says they have no production plans, but that's a big "yet" seeing as Sony already has their OLED products open for sale. They also showed an HD DVD/Blu-ray Disc Combo DVD player. They've got home entertainment market under wraps. They even have a set-up for 3D capable plasmas, meaning you'll be watching movies in 3D soon. So freaking tight.
Server providers AT&T, Microsoft, and NBC announced that they are working on solutions against P2P piracy and are opening up the option of filtering at the network level. How about buh-bye! Unfiltered networks would take over in a second. The "pirates" are the ones that are spending all day at their computer, fueling the digital economy of the web, etc. Hopefully they do filter though, then some new companies can spring up and offer real customer service. No one needs more corporate big brother in their lives when they have so much already.

Okay we get it, Comcast offers faster internet at an affordable price. They have the largest on-demand selection with about 90% of the material begin free. And now apparently that's all going to get WAY better. Introducing Comcast 3.0: it's faster. Unveiled this morning at the Consumer Electrics Show, it's going to offer even more in the way of on-demand, speed (with the new network of fiber optic cables), and, still, a portable DVR/DVD player (talked up yesterday at Panasonic's keynote) to carry around TV shows. And that's about it.

Gadgets: 2008 CES Kicks Off Panasonic's New Works

The 2008 Consumer Electronics Show is under way in Vegas again and all the big R&D toys are coming to the stage. This mornings keynote unveiling, information courtesy of Engadget, kicked off with Panasonic's new 150-inch plasma TV. The monster has a resolution set at 4 x 1080p, essentially 4k by 2k. The presenter, Panasonic's AVC President Toshihiro Sakamoto, calling it the "Life Panel."

Gadgets: Old School Revamped

Talk about old school! This must be where that crazy russian got the idea to make a game full of falling blocks. In fact all of those old game programmers were crazy. How could you not be when you're involved in revolutionizing the use of computers and the newly developed consoles. In fact we were too, crazy for the games not crazy. You guys remember busting out the Atari, dropping some asteroids or battlezone. Or maybe you waited till NES Nintendo came out and started in on mr. mario himself. What we're getting at is just how fun those games were. Not so much for their graphics (obviously) but for their uniqueness and simplicity, recognizable now with the graphics of todays games.

Random: Funny Friendships, Really Funny.

Friendships are an amazing thing. A friend is someone you can trust, look to for help, screw around with, and screw with in general. Usually the first three take precedence in the friendship, but every now and then you've got to screw with your friend. You guys are close enough to take a joke between each other, maybe something that you notice about them that they don't quite notice, maybe something they notice about you, or maybe you just make something up to mess with them. Random: Welcome To The New Year!

It's 2008 and we're all still here, guess that means you DO have to go through with those new years resolutions. Yes it sucks, but just think what a better person you'll be after the couple weeks/months that you actually stick with it! Okay fine, maybe you'll stay true through the whole year and good for you, but honestly can the majority of us say we will? Yes, we can say that, but no not honestly. Maybe that's due in part to what we're telling ourselves we're going to do to change ourselves, like "oh i'm going to eat healthier this year" or "I'm going to workout so I can look good" or maybe you thought you'd resolve to help others and the environment, go "more green." If it was the latter then you're on the right track, if not then resolve to find out more.

Random: A More-Than-Perfect Resolution

Alright guys, we know we're perfect and better than women (the only people that really judge our "faults") but if you actually do have some things to work on then this is where you'll find them. These are the ONLY situations where you should even CONSIDER making resolution for the new year. Men are too evolved to ever lack in any areas, but we can still continue to evolve and maintain our supremacy for decades to come.
Resolution #1: Directions. We're perfectly capable most of the time, but sometimes other men know more than us. Listen to them. They're still men.

The elections are going to be here sooner or later and knowing your candidates will be a deciding factor when voting... obvious yes, but how many people actually take the time to look into things? Random: Oh Boy Those Crazy Canadians

We all know that there are some differences between us and our cousins up north, like how we talk, how we lock our doors, our crime rates, etc. So of course new contrasts are going to continue to spring up among so many others. One of those is how government manipulates the people using fear. Many support the idea that governments use fear to enact urgency in people so that bureaucrats can get things done quickly and with little opposition, because who's going to say no when their life is on the line? Not you or I that's for sure. It's obviously a very powerful influence, so how are others using it?
