Fitness: Guys Getting Old

Okay, granted, 37 isn't very old. In fact it's pretty young in today's day and age. Three hundred years ago if you made it to 45 you were an old codger. In caveman days if you lived past 20 you were practically a fossil. Forget cancer, imagine trying to outrun a T-Rex on a sprained ankle. You'd be a snack quicker than you could blurt out, "Holy sheep $h!t!" However, being that I have not seen any t-rex's around I've had some nagging things bugging me and recently went to visit my doctor.

"What's the problem?" she asked. "Not too much. I just have had this nagging cough, sore throat and congestion about the last 10 weeks and it's not going away. Plus I have a problem with my left nostril bleeding about three times a week...oh, and I've noticed that I've, um...how can I say this delicately? I've had...er, um, blood in my stool." This got a reaction from her. "Really? That doesn't sound too good." She checked me out and it turns out I have allergies and a hemorrhoid. Two things I've never had in my life. The advice she gave me is that it's never too late to become an allergy sufferer. Bummer. I thought I'd dodged that bullet. The second thing she suggested was a better diet (duh! - as if I actually had some sort of ability to say "no" to a Krispy Kreme donut) and lastly she preached fitness again. Her recommendation was a device I'd owned as a teenager, the Total Gym 1700. It's easy on the joints, leans you out, doesn't hurt your muscles and gives you cardio all in about a half hour workout. I was never as cut and ripped as I was when I religiously worked out with this thing. Of course I was only 20 once, so there's that too. Check out the Guyville Store for all your gifts for him needs.
