Random: A Man For The People

Actually THE man for the people. People magazine recently published this year's list of sexiest men with none other than Matt Damon heading it up. Starring in freaking awesome movies like any and all of the The Bourne Trilogy as well as the Ocean's Trilogy. He won an Oscar for best writing (as a screenplay written directly for the screen) with Good Will Hunting and was nominated for best actor in a leading role for that same film. He has also been nominated for Emmy's and Golden Globe Awards, even winning one of those. So with all of his acknowledged accomplishments and now the title of sexiest man of the year awarded to him by people the question still lingers, why is Matt Damon such a douche bag?

Part of it has to be the fact that he's full of shit. Not something unheard of amongst celebrities, but he's number one for the moment so he's on the block. And making it easier for us is none other than People magazine themselves. A nice little quote from them goes like this:

"You've given an aging suburban dad the ego-boost of a lifetime," Damon, 37, told PEOPLE, explaining why he couldn't possibly accept the crown – which perfectly demonstrates many of the reasons we chose him in the first place: irresistible sense of humor, rock solid family man, heart-melting humility.

So let's see, he's humble, usually a sign of being polite, mild-mannered, generally just seen as reserved and respectful enough that they don't gloat. But he's also got a sense of humor! Can that even be true? Oh wait, it is. His part in Team America had some of the most classic lines ever spoken and boy howdy they are laughable. Gosh with these two things going for him already there isn't much else to consider, except his being a "rock solid family man." We'll go ahead and sum that up as stability and then take a look at how this man measures up to his People's sexiest man of the year qualities.

Sense of humor my ass.
