Random: PSA: Don't Be A Fool

Posted November 7, 2007 9:52 AM

Every guy wants to be able to get lost in the wilderness and survive off the land. Some might be able do so with proper training and experience, but one thing that you can't do is survive alone in the wilderness because you watch Man vs. Wild. You just can't. Star of the show Bear Grylls might be able to pull off survival (having a film crew follow you around is the same as surviving alone apparently) but it takes a little more cajones and, more importantly, knowledge. What it all boils down to though is that no matter what day profession you have or how religiously you watch the show, watching Man vs. Wild will still be the equivalent of tugging one out on a patch of grass.

It might be that way because Bear Grylls is full of crap and so is his show. It is entertaining at first, but after realizing the amount of stupidity that comes spewing out of his mouth it loses its appeal fast. The locations he shoots in are pretty lame too. In many places he isn't removed from civilization in the least, which kind of defeats the purpose of his "being lost" in the wilderness and having to survive until he makes it out. One blatant and gross falsity takes place when he builds a raft and goes out to see on it. What really happened is they called in an expert who built it. They shot with it for the show and then disassembled it so they could show Bear (<-what a tool name) making it himself. Just take a look and see some of the nonsense that has become so popular:

Yep, no Man vs. Wild for me. Good thing I watch Survivorman though..

Honestly though, I'd rather drink pee the right way if I have the option.

Survivorman is definitely the superior show. At least he doesn't drink his own pee. Also, what's with the excessive foley in that shot? Do I really need to hear him gulping it down?
