Gifts: Digital Jingles Every Which Way

Posted December 7, 2007 9:09 AM

mp_greatestgadget_f.jpgTis the season... for a history lesson! Not really though, more of a comparison between then and now concerning some technology that people used to get along fine without. That's right, telephones. In 1959 we had the Western Electric 500 telephone, then came touch tone, then cordless and now of course we've wireless.

Wireless phones have turned each human into an epicenter for communication, receiving calls from any location at any hour. Unlike the WE 500, which by 1955 had only innovated beyond 5 new colors, there are a plethora of cell phone and pda choices for you to pick from. Since phones and other gadgets are such great guy gifts we thought a cell phone selection would make for some good holiday shopping.

Feast your eyes on the masses, and soon your ears shall follow.

Not really guys, but enjoy the choices!

BlackBerry 8300 Curve Silver Phone (AT&T):The Blackberries are the closest phone in competition with the iPhone (though the iPhone takes the cake), but these guys are definitely a luxury to have.

Blackberry8130BlackBerry 8130 Pearl 2 Smartphone (Sprint) Smaller and more compact then some of the other Blackberries, this would be a great gift for someone that wants a little cellular versatility but not the size that usually comes with it.

LG Voyager

LG Voyager Black Phone (Verizon Wireless): If your guy can't stand the thought of forking out top dollar for an iPhone, but loves the touch screen process, then the LG Voyager is a great substitute. Not only does it have the great touch screen capabilities, but it also opens up to a full keyboard and not mention it's on Verizon's blazing fast 3G (EVDO) network (unlike the iPhone).

LG VX8500 White Chocolate Phone (Verizon Wireless): The white chocolate name says it all, this is a phone for guys that want to keep their image clean and sharp. Nothing overly unique about it, but that's the perfect feel for what it is.

AT&T 8125 Smartphone (AT&T): Another computer-phone offered by AT&T, this thing will help you manage whatever your life throws at you, provided it only needs to be put on the calender. Really though you have plenty and plenty of freedom with this guy, not to mention a clean, sleek techy look.

Sony Ericsson W810i Phone (AT&T): The Sony Ericsson phones are awesome. They're compact, sturdy, and feature music storage capabilities. They come with a memory card, but if you want to fit a lot of music on you'll probably have to end up getting a better chip.

Sony Ericsson W580i White Phone (AT&T): Same deal as above except this guy goes a little cleaner. Whatever it is about them, white phones just scream style, something mostly unaccomplished with a lot of other phones.

Samsung M620 Upstage Black Phone (Sprint): Simple and supremely slim, there is not a better cell phone out there for guys that want a phone to talk on and send text messages. This thing is sharp and useful, a guy gift recommendation and favorite.

Palm 755p Burgandy Smartphone (Sprint): Another smartphone that guys are sure to love, the burgundy casing really sets this phone apart. That, and the fact that its a sweet piece of hardware.

Sony Ericsson GC89 GPRS/EDGE & Wi-Fi Laptop PC Card (T-Mobile): Guys need a phone for their laptops too! Use this to set up shop online wherever you're at. An important thing to keep in mind is that they're offered by other service providers too if you aren't using T-mobile.

Motorola RAZR V3 Dragon Tattoo myFaves Phone (T-Mobile): Honestly, you know about the RAZR's, but what a bad ass face plate. Definitely a guy gift.

LG VX8550 Chocolate Maroon Phone (Verizon Wireless): Burgundy, maroon, all of those deep reds just look sick and having a tight phone thats covered in it? That makes it about as sick as sick gets. A cool little phone that some guys are sure to like.
